Everything you need to know about the Holistic Scotland Magazine Wellbeing Awards 2020

We are delighted to be hosting the first ever Holistic Scotland Magazine Wellbeing Awards, in association with A.Vogel, Water for Health and Mind and Mission, to celebrate excellence in natural and holistic health in Scotland.

We are hoping the 2020 awards will be the first of many and help to put Scotland on the map when it comes to natural health and wellbeing.

The magazine team couldn’t prouder of the natural health movement that’s happening in Scotland right now.

That’s why we set up a free magazine to support and promote this growing industry, which we believe in wholeheartedly.

Our title not only encompasses and celebrates natural health, but embraces clean skincare and beauty, complementary therapies, healthy eating and the great outdoors.

We are always looking for innovative ways to support the industry and we believe the Holistic Scotland Magazine Wellbeing Awards is a great way to do this.

That’s why we would like to thank everyone who has entered, nominated, sponsored or been involved in the Wellbeing Awards 2020 so far.

Congratulations go to every single one of our nominees. Now it’s time to announce the finalists!

It hasn’t been easy to compile a shortlist, but we hope this article will help to explain our decisions and give you a flavour of what happens next.

We really hope to see you all on Awards Night on Sunday, 12 April 2020 at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel in Edinburgh, where we will be celebrating each and every one of you – regardless whether you’re a nominee, finalist, winner or natural health supporter.

If you’re as passionate about natural health and wellbeing as we are, then please join us for an evening of recognition, celebration, fun, laughter and great music!

How we choose our finalists

Our finalists have been chosen based on the strength of the information provided to us on the entry or nomination form.

If we have been impressed by the case presented to us, we will put the entrant or nominee through to the final.

Sadly, many online forms came through with very little detail to support some of the nominations – often even minus full names or with non-existent category names.

If you haven’t been selected as a finalist this time around, please don’t be discouraged. You are very welcome to nominate or enter again next year and, of course, very welcome to join us on Awards Night.

If you haven’t yet received a letter about your nomination or selection as a finalist, don’t worry it will be with you very soon.

What happens next?

Now that we have selected our finalists, their entries will then be passed to our panel of independent judges.

Our judges will then choose one overall winner and two runners up in each category – each of which will be announced on our Awards Night.

Our judges are:

Karen Gider, founder of Face Yoga Scotland & natural beauty ambassador

JJ Stenhouse, coach, writer, broadcaster and founder of The Pure Place

Roddy Macdonald, Water for Health founder

Angela Robertson, co-founder of Edinburgh Wellbeing Festival

Melanie Bell, director and principal of The Complementary Therapy School

Louise Scott, director and co-founder of Mind & Mission

Awards Night

Our Awards Night will take place at the stunning Apex Grassmarket Hotel, overlooking Edinburgh Castle on Sunday, 12 April 2020.

Our evening will begin with each and every one of our guests being piped in along the red carpet, where an experienced press photographer will take a professional photo for you to keep forever.

You will also be greeted with a health-boosting mocktail on arrival and a VIP goodie bag containing gifts from Holistic Scotland Magazine, BetterYou, hypnotherapist Ailsa Frank and many more amazing natural health and wellbeing brands.

You will then be invited to network before being shown to your seats for dinner and the official awards ceremony and evening entertainment.

Each of our guests will enjoy a three-course meal – with our menu (including vegan option) to be revealed shortly.

Your events host

We’re delighted that our awards will be hosted and presented by radio presenter Gina McKie, whose shows are a highlight of both Virgin Radio and Go Radio.

Gina is passionate about holistic health and has even penned her own self-care book, Imagination.

Gina will mention each and every one of our contenders and more than 60 finalists will be honoured on the night.

Our overall winners in each category will be presented with a unique, glass award and certificate. They will also win a year’s free advertising and marketing support with Holistic Scotland Magazine.

Each of our runners-up will receive a personalised certificate and special gift .

Maggie’s Raffle/Auction

We’ll be raising money for Maggie’s on the night as a special thank you for the charity’s work and for its help in making Holistic Scotland Magazine available to readers who might benefit from natural health expertise.

Entertainment

Our evening entertainment will be provided by Ernest – The Band, a Glasgow-based three-piece whose repertoire not only includes Fleetwood Mac, but James Bay, the Rolling Stones, George Ezra, Queen, and many more musical legends.
