Are you drinking enough water?

Researchers have found that nine out of 10 Brits aren’t drinking the recommended daily amount of water – despite temperatures continuing to soar across the country.

Only 10% of people in the UK are drinking the suggested amount, which is between 1.4 and 1.8 litres.

Studies show that dehydration can reduce our ability to concentrate, our cognitive and physical performance, and increase feelings of aggression or irritation.

But this latest poll by ACTIPH Water (the UK’s first high-alkaline, ionised bottled water) has revealed that two thirds of Brits will reach for a caffeinated or fizzy drink when they’re low on energy rather than a glass of water without sugar, calories or additives.

Only 38% of people surveyed are currently opting for water and, as a result, 16% say they always feel dizzy or light-headed, while 24% say they struggle to concentrate – both of which can be signs of dehydration.
