What is energy medicine?

Women’s health expert Dr Clare Willocks, who is an Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) clinical practitioner and teacher, explains how EEM can provide amazing results

Dr Clare Willocks

Energy Medicine is the oldest and most sustainable form of healthcare.

Eons ago, we instinctively knew how to look after and nourish ourselves, and how to tend to each other.

We lived in rhythm, according to the seasons and cycles. Today, our world has become increasingly fast paced.

We barely notice when our body gets out of her natural rhythm, how her wisdom becomes compromised, and we just keep going. Stress becomes a constant presence in our lives.

Donna Eden made a significant contribution to Energy Medicine by integrating nine different energy systems.

Rather than seeing the meridians, chakras, and aura etc independently of each other, in Eden Energy Medicine (EEM), we understand the principles that influence everyone’s energies and the methods to balance them.

After several years in the NHS, I decided to train in Donna Eden’s method, to empower myself, my colleagues and clients with the ability to balance the energy to thrive in our lives.

How does Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) differ from Reiki?

Reiki is a passive therapy, during which the practitioner’s hands hover over the body. The practitioner expects the body to send the energy where it needs to go.

EEM recognises that the body ‘s wisdom has probably been compromised somewhere along the way.

It helps to correct any imbalances with the help of energy testing and simple energy techniques.

As a result, any stuck energy moves to restore balance and health to the body.

Is EEM it the same as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?

EFT is a form of energy psychology which addresses the emotional roots of physical problems by tapping on various acupressure points with specific statements to help release the stress. EEM and EFT complement each other.

What are the benefits of EEM ?

  • Improve our health, our energy, and empower us with our lives
  • Expand our effectiveness as care-givers
  • Rejuvenate relationships
  • Sharpen our concentration and the ability to learn
  • Be integrated into an existing professional practice
  • And much, much more….

Disease prevention and stress reduction

So many illnesses are caused by stress to our bodies – either emotionally or physically.

Stress comes into our energy field as an imbalance but EEM techniques can prevent any imbalance or disease from showing up in the physical body e.g. as an autoimmune disease, adrenal imbalance, inflammation, cancer, trauma or shock.

We don’t have to wait until we develop a problem or have a diagnosis if we can track the energy in our body.

EEM can be a complete system for self-care and self-help – promoting high-level wellness.

We can heal the body by activating its natural healing energies. EEM can complement medical care by restoring energies which have become weak, disturbed, or out of balance.

Using energy testing, an EEM practitioner can find the strengths and imbalances (where our energy may be blocked) and will work to bring about corrections before tracking the energy and the effect of the corrective practices.

Study EEM

The one-year EEM Foundations Programme involves understanding the principles which influence the nine energy systems, as well as techniques to work with illness, pain and autoimmune disease.

After learning the foundations of EEM for self-care, family and friends, it’s then possible to continue with the second year of the certification programme.
